Tungsten Carbide Grinding Tank
Tungsten Carbide Grinding Tank

Tungsten Carbide Grinding Tank

The tungsten carbide grinding tank is manufactured through integrated high-pressure pressing and high-temperature sintering of cemented carbide tungsten carbide (WC-Co) powder, representing an ultra-high wear-resistant, heavy-duty premium grinding vessel designed for planetary mills and heavy-duty tank mills. Featuring exceptional hardness, high density, impact resistance, and outstanding wear resistance, the tank exhibits minimal wear during grinding operations with only trace amounts of cobalt leaching, making it ideal for crushing and grinding ultra-hard ores, alloys, and high-hardness minerals. Equipped with standard thickened metal flanges and wear-resistant fluororubber sealing components, available in standard stock sizes or custom dimensions, this specialized tank is tailored for geological exploration, metallurgical mining, cemented carbide production, refractory materials processing, and other applications involving high-hardness materials. Designed for coarse crushing and prolonged high-intensity grinding operations, its service life significantly exceeds that of zirconia, stainless steel, and alumina ball mills.

Product Features

Featuring ultra-high hardness and minimal wear, the powder exhibits virtually no impurity precipitation during prolonged grinding. Available with standard sealing, acid/alkali-resistant fluororubber sealing, or high-vacuum sealing configurations; its inner wall features mirror-polished surfaces ensuring low powder adhesion, easy cleaning, and high sample recovery rates. Resistant to acids, alkalis, and most organic solvents without reacting with conventional chemical powders. The integrated sintered design eliminates joints, provides impact resistance, and resists cracking under normal use. Comprehensive specifications include standard stock sizes from 50 mL to 20 L, with customizable outer diameter, height, and snap-fit flanges. Low thermal conductivity prevents significant temperature rise during grinding, making it ideal for handling heat-sensitive or perishable high-end materials. The tank body supports laser engraving of capacity, material labels, and customer logos for efficient classification management.

Working principle

The tungsten carbide tank is filled with tungsten carbide grinding media and hard materials to be ground, then equipped with a tightly sealed lid and mounted at the ball mill station. In planetary grinding mode, the tank rotates both synchronously at high speed and on its axis, utilizing immense centrifugal force to drive the internal grinding balls to violently impact, crush, and shear the hard materials, achieving rapid coarse and ultra-fine crushing. In roller grinding mode, the tank continuously rolls, and the self-weight of the high-density tungsten carbide abrasives generates significant crushing force for continuous grinding of highly hard ores. The sealed structure prevents dust ingress, while the vacuum version enables oxygen-free grinding. Due to its exceptional rigidity and density, the tungsten carbide tank remains undeformed and uncracked even under high-speed and heavy-load operation, delivering stable grinding impact forces that enable rapid refinement of even the hardest materials.
