Basic concept of rock wool

Rock wool is an inorganic fiber material made by melting rock and then fibrillation, which has the following characteristics:

Excellent thermal performance: thermal conductivity of 0.029 to 0.046 watts per meter-Kelvin at room temperature

Non-flammable andproof: safe operating temperature of 600°C, excellent fire resistance

Sound absorption and noise reduction: sound absorption coefficient (1000~4000) of 0.6~0.8

Production process of rock wool and the role of blast furnace

Rock wool production process

Raw material preparation: raw materials such as basalt, slag, etc.

Material mixing and melting: high-temperature melting in the blast furnace (1450°C ±30C)

Melting and fibrillation: liquid rock wool is thrown out at high speed by the centrifuge to form long and thin rock wool fibers

Forming andifying: using a pendulum to evenly spread the cotton, and solidifying treatment under high temperature and high pressure
