Working principle
Cold blast furnace slag or crushed natural rocks (e.g., basalt) are mixed with coke and conditioners (such as limestone, fly ash) in proportion and fed from the furnace top. Preheated air is supplied through tuyeres around the furnace shaft to burn coke inside the furnace, generating a high temperature of 1400–1600 ℃ and melting solid raw materials into molten liquid.
